- Transition Reports: On January 22, 2010, the Administration issued the reports of its Transition Team including the Report of the Energy and Utilities Subcommittee as well as the Report of the Environmental Subcommittee, of which MGKF partner, Bruce Katcher, was a member. Katcher has summarized the key findings and recommendations of the Environmental Report and the Energy and Utilities Report.

- Christie Executive Orders Freeze Proposed Rules: On January 20, 2010, Governor Christie issued Executive Order No. 1, which froze and suspended more than 100 proposed rules and regulations (including both environmental and energy rules), and Executive Order No. 3, which created a Red Tape Review Group to, in part, assess the suspended regulatory packages. Additional information related to these two Executive Orders, including a copy of each and a list of the affected rule packages can be found here.
- Lame Duck Legislation: Several key environmental and energy bills were signed into law in the waning days of the Corzine administration. Those bills are listed and briefly summarized here.
