Recent high profile enforcement actions by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency are driving home the costly effects of non-compliance with the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act ("EPCRA"). EPCRA and its implementing regulations require owners and operators of facilities that store, use or release hazardous chemicals in excess of threshold quantities to report information on those substances to federal, state, and local emergency planning and response agencies.
Todd Kantorczyk, a partner at the environmental and energy law firm of Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox, LLP will present a Legal Quick Hit on July 14 to outline the EPCRA compliance requirements so that your company can reduce the risk of enforcement actions. This federal program is partially implemented (and sometimes made more stringent) by state and local legislation so it’s critical to know how you are impacted in your area. We’ll review current cases and the "lessons learned" from their outcomes.
