Michael C. Nines Appointed to PADEP’s Air Quality Technical Advisory Committee
Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox, LLP (MGKF), an environmental, energy, land use law and litigation firm based just outside of Philadelphia, PA, is pleased to announce that in-house technical consultant Michael C. Nines, P.E., LEED AP has been appointed by Secretary Patrick McDonnell to serve on the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Air Quality Technical Advisory Committee (AQTAC). His term will run through June 2023. AQTAC serves as the air advisory committee mandated under the Pennsylvania Air Pollution Control Act Section 7.6(b) to provide technical advice to the Department.
AQTAC reviews draft regulations and technical guidance and provides improved clarity to the Department on air quality matters. AQTAC is briefed on national issues including ambient air quality standards and interactions with EPA. Questions and suggestions offered by the AQTAC inform decisions considering the balance between impact on industry and the air quality benefit of emission reductions.
